Wilma Daniel Gallery (Phase I)

Wilmington, NC - 2019

This was the first in a two part solo exhibition in the Wilma Daniels Gallery at Cape Fear Community College that exhibited the largest grouping from the ongoing Curiosities Series. At the mid-point of the exhibition, the pieces were removed and the arrangement shifted.

This first phase highlighted the similarities and differences of the sculpture by grouping pieces by color or form in regular and irregular arrangements. One grouping shifted hue from yellow to green to suggest organic forms growing in an irregular rhythm across the wall. The various groupings also included a monochromatic grid of pink while another consisted primarily of linear pieces that form a simple circular shape. The groups varied in size and considered the contrast of chaos to structure.
